If others can post photos of family on the Internet, so can I! Here is one of my god-daughters with her parents. We met at Vic & Al’s on Manor Road in Austin. We ate in a little alcove that had a curtain we were able to use to separate us from the boisterous Monday crowd. Yes, Monday! Boisterous crowds!
After my wife and I moved near Wilmington, Delaware in 2000, we went downtown on a Saturday afternoon to see what was happening and were shocked to find that the only place open on Market Street in downtown Wilmington was the History Center, a bad sign. It seemed that Wilmington was a place that had been but was no more. So different from the 24/7 city we had left behind in Austin. It is not that we are party people, far from it, but a lively city offers many advantages even to stick-in-the-muds like us. Then again, property values and taxes aren’t going through the roof here. That’s a blessing.
