Sandra surprised me by saying she wanted to meet while I was in Austin in April, 2023. My wife and I were staying at the B&B of our mutual friend, Ann. In this photo, Sandra on the right, Ann on the left. Years ago, Sandra, a devout Christian, had married a Jew with strong ties to his religion. When their daughter was born, I made a comment to the effect that, with parents so strongly tied to two different religions, their daughter was likely to marry a Hare Krishna. I said it as something as a joke then. Now Sandra wanted me to know that she would soon be in India to observe her daughter’s wedding celebration, not to a Hare Krishna, but to a Hindu of a different subset of that wide religion! What are the odds?

Cool story! We were asked to let [our adopted daughter] Moni be raised Hindu, but we felt it would be too much. But we kept her connected to the India Culture Club here and to lots of other people. Enjoy India, Sandra, it is a wonderful place. [SANDRA REPLIED: Thank you! I’m home now. It was a fantastic experience!

Great photo Danny! [DANNY REPLIED: Getting people to relax in front of the camera is often a challenge. Not so here! For some reason both these old friends still trust me.]
