Berkeley was still in college at The University of Texas when he submitted this humorous juxtaposition of luxury and poverty. Later, his humor became a daily phenomenon in homes all across the United States when his cartoon strip, Bloom County, won national syndication, followed by 18 books and a television special. We last heard from him in February, 2007, when he and other photographers from the 1978 Book of Days were interviewed for the "Mike Cahill Murder" segment of Fox-TV's America's Most Wanted.
